American Society of Hispanic Psychiatry 1. To promote research, professional education, and clinical activities in the field of mental health through the participation and collaboration of Hispanic psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals in the United States, Latin America, and the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal). 2. To promote the collaborative process between Hispanic mental health professionals and other Latino-focused organizations in the United States, Latin America, and the Iberian Peninsula. 3. To advocate for policies based on the best available scientific evidence that aims to eliminate the health disparities prevalent in Latino and other minority populations. 4. To support Latino patients, families, and communities in the promotion of wellness and inclusion initiatives.
Association for Multicultural Counseling & Development The Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development seeks to develop programs specifically to improve ethnic and racial empathy and understanding. Its activities are designed to advance and sustain personal growth and improve educational opportunities for members from diverse cultural backgrounds.
National Latinx Psychologial Association National Latinx Psychologial Association's mission is to create a supportive professional community that advances psychological education and training, science, practice, and organizational change to enhance the health, mental health, and well-being of Hispanic/Latinx populations.
Section on Ethnic Minority Affairs (Illinois Psychological Association) IPA’s Section on Ethnic Minority Affairs (SEMA) will be a space where the unique needs, lived experiences and expertise of ethnic minorities of color are honored, valued and respected. SEMA is an open and inclusive space. Our membership will include psychologists and graduate students who are active, well-informed and passionate about improving the overall health and wellness of people of color in Illinois, nationally and globally.
